Why it stands out
The 2015 Nissan Murano stands out as the start of the third generation, and it brought a more distinctive look than the model it replaced. It was slightly larger, with roughly 7.5 cm more length and more than 2.5 cm more width, and its design was defined by a much larger V grille, organic body sculpting, and a floating roof. Under the hood was a 3.5-litre V6 with 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT. Nissan’s CVT was described as better than many others, and the Murano could reach 100 km/h in roughly 7.5 seconds, which was quick for the class.
Inside, the 2015 Murano leaned hard into comfort and a more upscale feel. The base S trim came with 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, while the SV added a panoramic sunroof, remote start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power liftgate, and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. The SL added standard AWD, leather seats, a Bose premium audio system, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and advanced safety features, and the Platinum brought 20-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, adaptive cruise control, heated outboard rear seats, and ventilated front seats. The Murano’s cabin was also noted for a big step forward in design and quality, though the move to fewer physical controls meant more functions were handled through the touchscreen.
For buyers, the appeal was a comfortable, family-friendly midsize SUV with strong fuel economy estimates for the class and a generally more athletic feel than some rivals. At the same time, it was still tuned more for comfort than sporty driving, and the rear seats lost more than five centimetres of legroom. Cargo space was also somewhat small for a midsize SUV, and the sloping rear window could make it harder to load bulkier items.

This vehicle is spacious without being boxy or too big. There is plenty of leg room in the back seats for tall adults with the front seats all the way back. It has plenty of zip to be able to merge onto the highway or to get get moving and go around someone. It gets fantastic mileage for a 6 cylinder vehicle. Most SUV's in this size only have 4 cylinders and do not have that zip to them. This definitely comes in handy in this size vehicle. The all wheel drive gives peace of mind in snow and allows for great traction. Most importantly, the safety features are excellent.

Very smooth and luxurious ride. All around great vehicle from the styling of both the interior and exterior, smooth transmission, and powerful V6 engine. Details like cooled seats and panoramic sunroof make it a pleasure to drive.

Is the 2015 Nissan Murano a good car?
Generally — the 2015 Nissan Murano earns 4.4/5, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, stylish design, and spacious interior, and many also like its performance and value for money. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a comfort-focused midsize SUV with a more upscale feel and family-friendly practicality. With 22.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some worthwhile opportunities in the market.
Is the 2015 Nissan Murano reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, especially when it comes to comfort and long-term ownership appeal. Some drivers do mention CVT durability concerns, so a careful used-car inspection matters. For you, that means the Murano can be a good long-term buy, but you should pay close attention to service history and transmission behaviour before committing.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Nissan Murano?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.
- Deal availability: 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 106 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.48% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $11,353 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Nissan Murano's resale value?
The current average of $11,667 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,804 CAD.
That price movement suggests the Murano has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit further downside if you buy at the right price. If you sell later, the current market level gives you a clearer benchmark for setting expectations, especially if you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain service records. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.48% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the third-generation Murano’s comfort-first design, strong owner approval, and a market that has become more buyer-friendly, the 2015 is the one to focus on. If your priority is simply the lowest possible entry price, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2015 offers a good balance of value and appeal for shoppers who want a well-liked used midsize SUV.
