Is the 2017 Nissan Murano a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Murano earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, numerous features, and stylish design, and many also appreciate the comfort and power, especially in higher trims. That lines up well with its role as a comfort-first midsize crossover for shoppers who want a more refined, family-friendly SUV rather than something sporty. With 24.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable and trouble-free enough to recommend, especially when they value comfort and features over outright value. The same reviews note some concerns about reliability, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a poorly maintained example rather than the model itself.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Murano?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 215 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,396 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $14,460 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,917 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Murano has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you're buying now but less favourable if you're planning to sell soon. For a future seller, the current market implies you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if similar listings remain plentiful. The good news is that a well-kept Murano with the right equipment and condition should still appeal to shoppers looking for comfort and style.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Murano makes sense if you want a comfort-focused midsize crossover with strong owner approval and a market that has become more buyer-friendly. If you're price-sensitive, this year is especially worth a look because the current average sits well below last year's level. If you want to compare nearby years, you can also use the 2017 as a benchmark and shop whichever model year gives you the best condition and equipment for your budget.
