Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and user-friendly design. It also gets credit for a smooth ride and a spacious interior, which makes it especially appealing if you want a practical commuter or first-time car. Is the 2015 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the model is also praised for being dependable and good value over time. The expert assessment reinforces that with language about thrift and dependability, plus a reputation for holding its value and being inexpensive to own. If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is that higher-mileage examples may show their age through missing features and a lack of power rather than major ownership drama.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base DX and LX trims are the most affordable, while the EX Sedan adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink connectivity and services, heated front seats, automatic climate control, LaneWatch, keyless entry, push-button start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and alloy wheels.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine with 143 horsepower and front-wheel drive, paired with a CVT on some trims or a five-speed manual on DX, LX, and EX grades.
• Safety package: The Civic includes a backup camera on all trims but the base DX, and LaneWatch is standard on all but the DX and LX trims.
• Infotainment: Beyond LX, you get a touchscreen infotainment system with HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services, plus Bluetooth calling and text messaging on every 2015 Civic.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada states combined fuel consumption of 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres, and the expert drive recorded 7.4 L/100 km.

Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 6 trim levels: DX, LX, EX, Civic Hybrid, Civic Si, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• DX: This is the least expensive path into the Civic, but it is also the most stripped-down version, so you give up some convenience and safety equipment found higher up the range.
• LX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the Civic affordable while adding more everyday usability than the DX.
• EX: This is the sweet spot if you want the most appealing mix of comfort and convenience features, including the touchscreen system, heated seats, and keyless entry.
• Civic Hybrid: Choose this if your priority is efficiency above all else.
• Civic Si: Choose this if you want the most fun-to-drive version.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped Civic in the lineup.

The safety package is not fully standard across the range, since the backup camera is missing on the base DX and LaneWatch is not included on the DX or LX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,932 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $12,611 CAD sits slightly above last year's $12,504 CAD.

That small increase suggests the Civic has remained resilient in the used market rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to predictable demand and less risk of a sudden value drop. It also means a well-kept example should remain easy to position against other compact cars when you decide to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?

The 2015 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Civic comes with a backup camera standard on all trims but the base DX, and HondaLink Assist is also part of the safety story. LaneWatch is standard on all but the DX and LX trims, but it is not a traditional blind-spot monitoring system, so you should decide whether that setup works for you. The main caveat is that some safety equipment is not universal across the lineup, especially on the base trim.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers strong reliability, fuel efficiency, and value in a well-rounded compact package.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $11,303 CAD, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,611 CAD average.
• It feels more refined and capable than its price suggests.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,267 CAD, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,611 CAD average.
• It brings a bold new design with improved style, refinement, and build quality.

The bottom line: If you want the safest all-around value play, the 2015 is the easy default because it balances price, satisfaction, and everyday usability. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2014 is the smarter budget route; if you want a newer-feeling Civic and can spend more, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
