You’ll see the same themes come up again and again: a smooth ride, a spacious trunk, solid build quality, and a comfortable interior. Honda’s favourable ownership-cost reputation adds to that picture, and the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim adds a standard navigation system and 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels, while the base LX is more basic. If you want the most equipment, the Touring is the most complete choice.
• Powertrain: The 2.4-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine is paired with a CVT, and the setup is tuned for smooth, peppy performance rather than excitement.
• Safety package: Honda’s safety suite includes LaneWatch, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, collision-mitigation braking, SmartVent airbags, and automatic collision notification through HondaLink. Some of these features are not available on every trim.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 7-inch touchscreen and includes Bluetooth audio streaming, text-messaging support, a USB port, an auxiliary audio input jack, and HondaLink smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive data cites 8.2 L/100 km in combined driving as the Natural Resources Canada rating, and the test vehicle averaged 9.5 L/100 km.

Which 2015 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda CR-V is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here’s the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CR-V nameplate and can live with fewer features.
• EX: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience while staying below the pricier luxury-leaning trims.
• EX-L: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for extra comfort and equipment.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with standard navigation and the most complete feature set.

The safety package includes LaneWatch, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, collision-mitigation braking, SmartVent airbags, and HondaLink collision notification, but some of those features are not present on every trim.

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 282 listings available.

If you find a listing below $14,725 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $14,759 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,533 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about where their vehicle fits in the current range. If you buy well now and keep the CR-V in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The model’s broad appeal and steady demand help support resale strength, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2015 Honda CR-V earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS and four-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in every assessment except rollover resistance and front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision, where it earns four-star ratings.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda’s safety suite includes LaneWatch, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, collision-mitigation braking, SmartVent airbags, and automatic collision notification through HondaLink. One caveat is that LaneWatch and the lane-departure warning system are described as awkward or intrusive, so you may prefer to test those features carefully before buying.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 model year brings meaningful updates, including a more fuel-efficient engine, a CVT, revised styling, and added safety technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most refined version of this generation’s CR-V, the 2015 is a strong pick because it adds useful updates without losing the model’s core strengths. If your priority is simply finding the lowest purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2015 remains the better all-round choice for many used buyers.
