What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Accord?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is not too basic, with heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, text-messaging support, a rear-view camera, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Sport adds a small bump in power, paddle shifters, a firmer suspension, and unique 18-inch wheels. The EX-L brings more luxurious equipment, and the Touring sits above it.
• Powertrain: You can get a four-cylinder or a V6 gasoline engine, and the four-cylinder is described as smooth, refined, and sprightly. The V6 is the stronger choice if you want more power, while the CVT and paddle shifters help the four-cylinder feel responsive.
• Safety package: Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring, automatic collision notification, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning are only offered on higher trims. A rear-view camera is standard on every Accord.
• Infotainment: The Sport includes Bluetooth connectivity, a hands-free text-messaging assistant, a USB port, and an auxiliary input jack. Navigation, satellite radio, HondaLink services, and adaptive cruise control require a higher trim.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should have returned around 9.0 L/100 km in the city and 6.7 L/100 km on the highway, and the reviewer averaged 8.8 L/100 km in city-heavy driving.

Which 2015 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Accord is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Accord’s core strengths without stretching your budget. It already includes heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, text-messaging support, a rear-view camera, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want a more engaging drive. It adds a small bump in power, paddle shifters, a firmer suspension, and unique 18-inch wheels, but it keeps technology upgrades limited.
• EX-L: Choose this if you want a more luxurious feel and are willing to move up for more equipment. It can also be upgraded with the more powerful V6 engine and adds standard heated rear seats.
• Touring: This is the top trim if you want the most upscale Accord in this lineup, and it is also available with the V6 engine.

Honda’s safety and driver-assistance features are packaged on higher trims, so you may need to step up if those systems matter to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 84 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,379 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $13,484 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,612 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Accord is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you own one and plan to sell later, the recent decline means you may not see the same return you would have a year ago. Even so, the model’s strong reputation for reliability and broad appeal should help support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Accord safe?

The 2015 Honda Accord earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring, automatic collision notification system, lane-departure warning system, and forward-collision warning system are only offered on higher trims. A rear-view camera comes standard on every 2015 Accord.

The main caveat is that some of the more advanced active safety features are not widely available across the lineup, so you may need to move up a trim to get the full suite.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its broad capability, dependable service, and excellent all-round engineering.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $15,257 CAD, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $13,484 CAD average.
• Honda makes several improvements that make the sedan better in several ways.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2015 is the smarter buy. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model with improvements, the 2016 is worth a look. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2015 remains the more compelling path.
