Is the 2015 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — with a 4.75/5 user rating and an expert rating of 7.33/10, it lands as a strong choice for shoppers who want a modernised take on a classic sports coupe. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this redesigned model’s added technology and sporty hardware can bring more complexity than older Mustangs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Mustang?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT, GT Premium, and 50 Years Limited Edition get the V8 and bring the strongest performance character, while the base V6 is the entry point and the Convertible is also offered. The base car can feel less richly equipped, especially if it lacks the optional infotainment system.
• Powertrain: The 5.0-litre V8 is the standout for sound and thrust, while the 2.3-litre EcoBoost is the budget-friendly turbocharged four-cylinder. The six-speed manual is described as refined, and the optional automatic includes paddle shifters.
• Safety package: MyKey is standard and lets you set limits on speed and stereo volume while encouraging seat-belt use. A backup camera is standard, while blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control are available. The optional front crash prevention system received a one-bar rating out of a possible three bars.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses simpler knobs and buttons with voice-activated Ford Sync and Bluetooth. An optional MyFord Touch system adds an 8-inch touchscreen, with navigation and premium audio available after that.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT returned 12.6 L/100 km, while the EcoBoost or EcoBoost Premium achieved 10.1 L/100 km in testing.

Which 2015 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Mustang is offered in 4 trim levels: Mustang V6, Mustang Convertible, Mustang GT, and Mustang GT Premium.

Here's the short version:

• Mustang V6: This is the entry point if you want the Mustang shape and character without paying for the V8. It makes the most sense if your priority is getting into the model at the lowest cost.
• Mustang Convertible: Choose this if open-air driving matters most to you. It gives you the Mustang experience in a more relaxed, top-down format.
• Mustang GT: This is the best-value trim for most enthusiasts because it delivers the 5.0-litre V8, the strongest performance personality, and the most compelling driving experience.
• Mustang GT Premium: Pick this if you want the GT’s performance with a more upscale feel and more equipment.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that MyKey is standard, while backup camera, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Mustang?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping rather than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 105 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,518 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $23,831 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,781 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The year-round low of $23,518 CAD shows where the market has already been willing to transact, which can cap upside if supply stays healthy. On the other hand, the Mustang’s strong enthusiast appeal helps support demand when the car is well kept and properly equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang safe?

The 2015 Mustang earns five-star ratings in nearly all NHTSA assessments, including rollover resistance, and the IIHS rates it Good in all tests except the driver’s side small overlap, where it receives an Acceptable grade.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

MyKey is standard and lets you set speed and audio limits while encouraging seat-belt use. A backup camera is standard, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert plus adaptive cruise control are available. The standard Sync Bluetooth system also includes 911 Assist, which can automatically alert emergency responders after a collision if a paired device is in the car.

The main caveat is the IIHS small-overlap result, which is weaker than the rest of its crash-test performance.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 brings a redesigned body, stronger technology, and a big step forward dynamically.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $21,849 CAD, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $23,831 CAD average.
• It offers a more mature, polished take on the Mustang with strong performance and classic appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the more modern and technologically improved Mustang, the 2015 is the better primary choice. If your priority is spending less while still getting a highly regarded pony car, the 2014 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative.
