In practical terms, you’re looking at a compact car built around standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a 2.0-litre boxer engine, and a straightforward, usable layout that suits year-round driving in Canada. Is the 2014 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2014 Impreza’s appeal comes from its core mechanical simplicity for the generation, standard all-wheel drive, and a practical design that was meant to be dependable in everyday use. The model year saw only minor changes, which can be reassuring if you prefer a proven formula over a heavily revised one. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age and wear may matter more than model-year novelty, so condition and maintenance history should carry a lot of weight.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 23.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 61 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $6,899 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $6,916 CAD sits slightly below last year's $8,955 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition, because a lower entry price can help protect your position later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 23.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 Impreza makes sense if you want the core Subaru formula at a lower used-car price, especially standard all-wheel drive and practical everyday usability. If you’re price-sensitive, this year’s softer pricing can make it a smart entry point; if you want a newer-feeling version, a nearby year may be worth considering.
