Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.3/5 user rating, which fits its role as a roomy, economical compact sedan. The overview points to a more spacious interior, improved fuel efficiency, and a lighter design than the outgoing model, so you get a practical commuter with a strong value focus. It also benefits from a revised CVT, steering, and infotainment system, which helps round out the driving experience for everyday use. With 19.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that this generation is known for CVT-related concerns, so transmission condition should be a key part of your inspection and test drive. For used buyers, that means the Sentra can make sense as a practical commuter, but only if you’re comfortable being selective about maintenance history and drivability.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Sentra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 19.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 86 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $7,098 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $7,291 CAD sits slightly below last year's $8,762 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should stay realistic unless the car has unusually strong condition, mileage, and service records. Because the Sentra is positioned as a value-focused commuter, its resale strength will depend heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 19.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 Sentra makes the most sense if you want a roomy, efficient compact sedan and you’re focused on value. If you’re price-sensitive, this year is worth a close look because the market has softened and there are still enough listings to compare. If you want the best chance of finding a well-kept example, prioritise condition and transmission behaviour over chasing the lowest sticker price.
