Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Nissan Sentra earns 4.25/5 from users, and its appeal is easy to see if you want a compact sedan that prioritises space and efficiency. The overview points to a more spacious interior, a more fuel-efficient powertrain, and a lighter design than the outgoing model, all of which support its practical, easy-to-live-with character. It also received updates to the steering and infotainment system, which helps it feel more modern for its era.

For you, that makes it a sensible commuter choice if roominess and economy matter more than performance. 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.25/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that this generation is known for CVT-related concerns, so transmission condition deserves close attention during a test drive. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term ownership risk is making sure the drivetrain has been maintained well and feels healthy before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 85 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $7,096 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $7,285 CAD sits slightly below last year's $8,316 CAD.

That kind of decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to own it for a while, the current pricing gives you a more favourable entry point than it would have a year ago. If you sell later, the value story will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, economical compact sedan and you find one with a clean maintenance record, the 2014 is a strong primary option. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the cheapest one, since transmission condition matters a lot on this generation.
