Is the 2014 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.62/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth handling, fuel economy, and comfort, and many also like the performance and available safety features. If you want a compact SUV that blends style with everyday usability, this model year fits that brief well, though it may feel a bit compact if you need more space. With 25.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, especially when it comes to comfort and overall ownership experience. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of past engine or electrical concerns, since long-term ownership risk is never zero on an older compact SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 95 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,691 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $10,990 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,569 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar unless the vehicle is especially well kept. On the other hand, a lower entry price today can help support demand from shoppers who want value in a compact SUV. If the market continues to favour buyers, resale values may stay under some pressure in the near term.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the CX-5’s mix of style, handling, and everyday practicality, the 2014 is a sensible place to start, especially given the softer pricing and decent deal availability. If you’re more price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings near the lower end of the range and compare them carefully against other nearby model years before you decide.
