Is the 2014 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to reliability as one of the Sorento’s strengths, alongside comfort and useful features. Owners describe it as a solid family vehicle with good value, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable used buy when maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may show wear in controls or third-row usability, so condition and service history matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 11.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 100 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $7,728 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $8,813 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,061 CAD.

That decline suggests the Sorento has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one now, the softer market can limit upside in the short term, especially if your vehicle has average mileage or visible wear. On the other hand, a well-kept example with desirable equipment should still attract interest because shoppers continue to value this model year’s mix of comfort, space, and features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 11.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-rounded used SUV with a comfortable ride, strong owner satisfaction, and a price that has eased from last year, the 2014 Sorento is a sensible target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
