My blue 1976 Celica LT2000 coupe was my first car and never let me down once. Built back in the day when style wasn't a dirty word at Toyota, "Eva" was a beauty whose performance didn't quite live up to her appearance (like most Celicas) but was still able to get me up to 170 km/h on 1 or 2 occasions. Survived being rear-ended at low speed thanks to chrome bumpers. 5 speed manual gearbox was pretty good for a car bult in the mid-70s - it's still as many gears as you need. Ah, you never forget your first.

solid, reliable first car that was easy to work on regarding repairs. Susceptable to rust in the pillars. Sports exhaust system made her sound good and a bit more economical.

I was on autotrader.com and there was a 1976 toyota celica in very good condition for $2400 and only 100 miles away. Drove it home, nice ride. Interior, out standing. motor, needs a tune up. Looks like 121,000 miles. Not hert. Somebody took care of this car for a long time. Also it looks like some kids put a paint job on it years ago. I'm doing some touch up on it for now. New paint in the future. Had a Pro clasic check it out and He said outstanding. Some issues though. Nothing major. Looked for parts for this car and was surprised, carborator for $199, distrubutor $69, struts for $36, plugs, plug wires, turmostat, bought all of it. Having fun cherrying it out.
