i have a 1996 Ford Ranger 3.0 v6 misfire on #3 and#6

replaced plugs coil pack  intake gasket has good compression and good fuel pressure  I heard it could be cam sensor  or distributor sensor any ideas?

I would have tested the leads and the distributor and plugs first it may be your leads or the distributor cap it normally is.

buy oem plugs,there may bee two different plug numbers, put them into the proper cylinder holes as designated by manufacturer. It could be that the coil pack fires two plugs off one terminal, one will fire at one specified power and the other at a different power meaning there needs to be two different plug ratings for each cylinder from that coil terminal check the manufacturer recommendations to see if this is correct. it is on some vehicles.

Just had same problem bad belt tensioner made system been lean on 3 and 6 clogged converter that was my whole problem noise,power,engine light and white smoke
