I have a 1998 ford ranger automatic 3.0 v6  it looses power (sometimes) in the
lower gears..Was told there is a misfire on #2 an#5or4. I replaced the ignition
coil an got new sparkplugs an coil wires. Also are the Coil plugs that connect
to the lower part of the engine supposed to be all the same color?  sometimes
a lot of blue/white smoke will come out the tail pipe. Any ideas?

Let start with the coil on plugs - Coil on plugs can be different colors if they were replaced at different times with different brand components. The additional issues are concerning - Blue/Gray smoke is caused by oil and White/Gray smoke is caused by a leaking head gasket. So its quite possible the smoking issue is a bad head gasket which in turn is triggering the misfires you have in the first issue. Check the radiator and see if it is out of fluid or has a mixture of oil/water. Then pressure check it, if there is no problem found I would do a compression test and go from there.
