U connect problem with making a phone call

When I plug my I phone into the USB plug on my 2020 Cherokee, the green
call button on the steering wheel does not work. It works fine when the phone is
not plugged in. Any suggestions? I just got the vehicle.

I learned that when a phone is plugged into the USB plug, you have to use the Apple carplay to make calls, not the green call button. Not sure I like this, but I will have to get used to it.
