i have a 98 explorer 4.0 5speed, motor is going on with a bang, was thinking about doing a 4.6 or 5.4 swap and keep the manual transmission. Any ideas???

YOur 98 explorer came with either a 4.0 V6 pushrod engine or a 5.0 V8. There was a different transmission for each. Suspect you will will have to do a transmission swap along with the engine swap. May have to take along the electronics also. Check engine mounts first if you decide on the 4.6 or 5.4.
