Why won't my iPhone 6 no longer pair with Honda 2017 CRV?

Asked by GuruJLG46 Jul 31, 2020 at 12:17 PM about the 2017 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took my 2017 Honda CRV in for service because my display screen went dark
just 1 day before my warranty expired. The car had 24K miles on it. They
performed a software update, then told me my iPhone 6 with Verizon actually
wasn't on their list of compatible phones for 2017 CRV.  Since the software
update, my phone will not pair with the car.

I think you answered you own question, because the phone is not on the list. The iphone 6 is older and you can't update to Apple's newer IOS 13. I assume Honda's software only works with newer phones due to security. I suggest you upgrade your phone to the new 2020 iPhone SE for $400.

Thanks for responding. I should have mentioned that the compatible phones listed for the 2017 CRV are only iPhone 4 & 5 phones, so not sure a newer phone will work, but guess it's worth a try. Thanks again.
