Starting issues

Asked by Kyle_page123 Dec 15, 2016 at 10:11 PM about the 1984 Chevrolet C/K 10 Silverado LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 84 chevy c10 with a 250 inline 6.
It was working just fine all day but tonight
when I parked it. And tried to start it again.
It did absolutely nothing. Didn't try to turn
over. Starter didn't do anything. But the
battery is good cause my radio comes on
and all lights work. Someone help me

If the lights turn off when you try to crank it, it may be corrosion at the posts. Try removing and cleaning the posts and connections. If not, your starter may be bad. You can probably get home by having someone put the key in start position while you climb underneath and whack the starter with a hammer. No joke. I had an old chevy truck and had to do this a couple times when the starter went out until I got a new one in.
