Oil Light

My oil light came on for first time ever.  Oil level is good.  It comes on for short
time and goes out.  I took it to get codes checked got P011, P012 and P021.  
I drove home because I know this is serious.  Help this is our only car and we
need it running properly.

Please help find problem so we can get corrected and back on road.

Without having a code sheet to know what they mean, check oil pressure with a gage, if good replace oil sending unit.

oil light mean oil pressure low needs oil or oil pump going bad.

Good morning, you said the oil level was good. I doubt the oil pump is going bad. At what RPM is the oil light coming on? Once warmed up the lower the RPMs the lower the oil pressure will be, higher RPM the oil pump will produce maximum flow, (oil pressure). The light on the dash is telling you 2 things, low oil, or low oil pressure. Do you have any type of knock in the engine?

Ok, I looked up the codes you have going on, and there are all interrelated, one with dirty or low oil, witch is the po11, & telling you there is a problem with the timing po21, and po12 indicating something with the oil control valves, which can be related to dirty or low oil. So basically you need a tune-up, at lease the timing checked. Sounds to me the light on the dash is telling you to have the timing check & corrected. Not to say there may be something wrong with a sensor, my guess being the po12 code. Getting these things serviced should improve gas mileage & performance...

MORE THAN LIKELY YOUR HAVING ISSUES WITH YOUR OIL CONTROL VALVES. THEY COULD BE STICKING DUE TO MAYBE SLUDGE OR THE SCREENS ON THE VALVES COULD BE CRACKED. IF ALL LOOKS GOOD APPLY THE OIL CONTROL VALVES DIRECTLY TO BATTERY TO SEE IF THE OIL CONTROL VALVES OPEN AND CLOSE.
