Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 Subaru forester, all dash lights came on, stuck in park.
Replaced brake light switch.  Now the cruise control will not work, not sure if
it was related to brake light switch or not.  There are no dash lights on so
mechanic cannot figure it out because there are no codes.  When I try to use
cruise the light comes on but it won't engage. Only have 30k miles & I need
my cruise!  What is wrong with my car???

If the problem started after the brake light switch replacement I would suspect the switch.

I've checked the brake light wires. Can't find any fuses for cruise control. CEL is not on so scanning it doesn't help since no codes will show up. Dealer has no idea. Any other suggestions?

Still trying to figure it out, its's annoying because I only have 30,000 miles. The dealer never heard of this problem & warranty is up of course. Don't feel like spending a bunch of $ on labor while they spend hours trying to figure it out! I feel like it should be a simple fix but nobody can help me. Please post if you figure it out

You have the wrong switch it should be normally open on one side of the terminal and normally closed on the other side I got an after market switch and it was normally closed on both sides get an oem switch

Thank you, I actually just found today that there is a recall for this, #WUE-90. It says subaru is recalling brake light switch but does not have parts ready yet for replacement. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2019/RCMN-19V149-0857.pdf
