Will a 2006 5.3L Silverado engine fit a 81
z28? If not what is the best affordable engine
I could purchase?

I don't know what you can afford but Chevy sells connect and cruise engines that are ready to go. Installing a newer engine like this involves hooking up ALL the smog devices, engine computer, wiring etc. Without the correct exhaust set up with cats and O2 sensors it will Never run right. Better to get an engine from that era or a new, easy to install engine.
