As far as the engine compartment goes, the size of the engine is not a problem, they are essentially similar. The problem you may need to address is in the position of the motor mounts and the engine fitting with the transmission bank that is now in your car, among others. There are many sites on the web for car enthusiasts, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc. that have a lot of information on the subject.

Just what Jorge said. Take a look at Camaro5.com There are quite a few threads on this subject. This is a very complex swap that will need to include the engine, transmission, rear end and all the ECU components. Nothing from the V6 drivetrain can be used with the V8.

1. Yes the lfx engine will fit in a 2011 Camaro, mine is a 2010 and is using an lfx engine. 2. Where can you get an lfx engine? Online.... I found mine on Craigslist for a good deal... Just make sure you get the complete engine, harness, computer... There are also other factors if you are going to change other parts... Transmission, fuse block... An example I wanted to swap the dash gauge cluster on my 2010 to put the gauge cluster from a 2012, physically the 2012 cluster fits, the plugs fits, but the needles don't move, the information in the middle works you know, oil, temp, trip....

If you want an easy engine swap, per my research 2010-2011 camaro or vehicles with the LLT engine are or have interchangeable parts. If you put a newer engine like an LFX or newer then you will have to change out some parts that pertain to the LFX engine. Example, mass air flow, new moded or reprogrammed ECU, change a few wires on the O2 sensor, LFX has its own unique exhaust manifold.. and the list goes on. Short answer to your question I would just stick to the 2010- 2011 models.

I have a 2015 camaro rs. I believe i broke the connective rod(s) in my car for redlining once, honestly i barely redlines but anywho. I want to swap to V8 probably ls3, not sure, i havnt found any info or help to do so and I am fairly new to car building, engine building. Any ideas, I'm all ears, thank you. Also i dont know if ill need to drill more holes for engine mounts or not, i was thinking all 5th gen camaros have same body style, but i dont know if engines would fit still.

This eas going to be your first build you will litterally be left with just the shell whe. You are all done you might as well just buy a zl1 and take all the parts and put it on yours new rear end drive shafts computers transmission motor all the tuning intake radiator also the zl1 is set up to run a supercharger so its low compression. You are looking at a build over 30k
