Van sputters and turns off at lights and in traffic

Asked by NC_townandcountry Jun 16, 2022 at 12:33 PM about the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 Town and country touring. Major issues with ETC that took
1500 to fix with mechanic. Still ongoing issue is that the car stalls in traffic or
when coming up to a light. This is only when car is warmed up......over 30
min of driving.  Have to put it in neutral to get thru this but doesn't always
help. I've replaced the fuel pump relay. When it dies it sounds almost like a
choked carburetor (old enough to know what that sounds like lol).Van
sputters and shakes.  Battery was replaced, plugs and wires replaced.

Did your mechanic scan the car for codes recently? Maybe a PCM defect? It could also be your idle control valve? Maybe transmission related? Get another mechanic to diagnose it?
