Rear ac/heater Blower goes off and in at its own will. Why?

Asked by GeolJen Jan 03, 2017 at 11:06 PM about the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country 30th Anniversary FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My rear ac and heater goes off and on. When
placed on most of the time it does not blow air but
occasionally it decides to blow and everyone gets
excited. Why is this? Any help is greatly
appreciated.

I suspect the blower motor resistor. When they go bad they cause all kinds of funny things to happen with the blower motor.

Turn the dial down to off directly on the rear controls. Seems that when that knob is in between settings, any little bump can trigger it to go off. Ours completely stopped after adjusting the rear dials.
