2004 Dodge Dakota no crank

No bus can have multiple causes. In general it means the instrument has lost communication with the computer. They operate on a bus type network configuration. Usually pin 2 of the dlc of these older dodges. If you dont have a scope you can sometimes get lucky with a volt meter and catch it when its acting up and see if you have high voltage(battery voltage) on that dlc pin which will bring down the entire network so nothing can talk or communicate. Also computer power/ground wires being corrupted can give you this problem. The computers internal 5 volt regulator being shorted to ground through a sensor(tps,map,ac pressure sensors, etc) or wiring can cause this issue

When this trouble first started the battery gauge would go really high. Turn the vehicle off and start and would return to normal. It has since progressed to no gauges moving and would occasionally start. Now, no gauges move, on the dash the transmission selector cycles through each one. Vehicle will not start. Have power to the starter relay but relay doesn’t work. Confirmed that the relay is good
