P0139 Becomes P0141 after new Denso Downstream sensor replacement

I was getting a recurrent code for P0139 stating that bank 1 sensor 2 had a
slow or unexpected response to ECM.  So, I replaced it with an OE Denso
sensor.  Now I have a P0141 code that states the heated oxygen heater
element has malfunctioned/failed.  This is for the exact same sensor
location, but a different code now that I have installed a new one.  What I
am trying to ask, did I get a bad O2 sensor from the store, or is there
something else going on that might be a common problem? This is on a
3.7L V6 version of the 2004 Dodge Dakota QuadCab SXT.  Thanks in

The DTC codes don't always mean a sensor is bad, there can be an issue in the circuit as in your case the 4 wire HEGO is signaling a no or non heat in the circuit / sensor time to inspect the connector and wiring harness the 02 can be Ok, and still have a circuit issue. The downstream sensors don't control anything, they monitor the catalytic converter temperature by means of 02 content the Upstreams are the active Major control signals of air fuel mixture in closed loop only.

The problem with diagnosing the circuit is the difficulty in getting to the connector. It is above the transmission in a tight place. This sensor seems to be directly tied in to the passenger side sensor. Is it a likely scenario that a different sensor could also be causing this code? I don't want to unhook the harness if I can help it. It's a pain in the butt to get back on in such a tight place. I may have too, but I Am hoping I can get around that.
