Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 BMW 325i that is doing some weird
stuff!  It runs awesome and it shifts awesome as in
no slipping or jerking or gears that don't work.  It
goes thru the gears no problem but when you are
in drive and you start to slow down it just starts
running thru all the gears downshifting for no
apparent reason.  The only way I can keep it from
going thru all the gears is to dump it in neutral
anytme I have to slow down and then after I stop,
put it back into drive again.  It has the tutronic ( or
whatever it's called) shifter off to the side.  It
doesn't feel like I have a transmission problem due
to the fact it shifts perfect but it just does it
Everytime i slow down all by itself and it starts
gearing down before I'm going slow enuf!  What is
it?  Could it be something to do with the abs and
not the tranny?  I don't get it,??  Is it a sensor and if
so which one?  Also, I believe I'm back in default
but I'm not sure about that either??  Thank you in
advance.  I don't know what to do!!!

Ok thank.you. i.will.follow your advice. Now if I only knew where the PCM is? I thought that was or is the brain? Geez. I was.hoping.it.would be something simple to rectify! :(. Maybe it is low transmission oil though. I don't believe there is a way to check it topside. I think I have to go to like Oil Can Henry's or something and have them do that? I don't know because I just got the car but I believe it is one you don't check the tranny fluid topside yourself. Anyhow, thanks again.
