Car cut out in 1st gear

Asked by JCJenks Nov 27, 2018 at 02:48 PM about the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has auto trans but had placed shift to 1st gear
manual to get out of snow trap. Car came out of
snow with rpm's running high but not redlining and
before i could put it back to full drive engine quit
and will no longer start. There is minimal crank
over before before battery (brand mew) begins to
run down. Will not start even with boost. Any ideas
are appreciated.
