Shifter cable

I just had the shifter cable on my 2008
Chevy Impala repaired and now everytime
I'm driving somewhere and I park, the
shifter cable comes off the post and I need
to open the hood and place it back on,
why does it keep coming off and how do I
make it stay in place?

I had the same issue. It became rather annoying. I would have to do the same thing you were doing. I never replaced the clips. For some reason, it just stopped doing it, without me fixing anything. Hadn't done it for about a month or 2 now. Just wait for me to go outside, and it probably will do it again ;)
