Is my shifter cable broke?

Asked by GuruG4K11 Aug 13, 2020 at 09:44 AM about the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My blazer drove home fine. Put it in park to run in house.
Got back in an it wont go into gear. The shifter is really
loose. It's making no noise or whining. It sounds normal.
On dash the light shows park an doesn't change when I
shift.

Hi there, seems to be a common problem lately. It's the plastic bushing on the shift linkeage. Zip tie it together in a pinch or see the Help! section at the parts store. I believe both part #'s 44055 and 44057 work.
