Even great Rover mechanics are still learning about these problematic cars. It's not something you can learn in a day, week, or even years. Experience is the best educator. On a twenty year old Rover, everything will be going out. The 4WD system and electronics are the worst. Look for a Land Rover owners club and get well acquainted with seasoned members. That will be your best guide.
