Asked by psoup Mar 02, 2008 at 05:03 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: General

My mom bought the same car and is scared because the DIC showed a solid red retangle and the words Power Boost.

I told her that the car is supercharged and it mut have engaged when she was on the highway.

She was scared of the "red" rectangle.

We bought it used yesterday and the salesman didn't even know it's options, and the owner's manual is in her glovebox, I can't see it because I am miles away.

HELP!

The supercharger runs all the time (when the engine is running) This car is covered under warranty. I would take it in.

relax man, it's ok. The car is equipped with a supercharger and the red rectangle indicates that you are in boost. This is normal when you are heavier on the throttle. My best advice would be to go to a dealership and have someone explain that it is perfectly normal for this to happen.
