Having problems getting the fuel pump outta the gas tank. Any ideas?

should just be a steel ring around the top of the sending unit with 3 tabs bent up on it, all u gota do is spin the ring and pull the sending unit up outa the tank... i had to beat on mine a bit to get it to turn. be carfull when working with gas
