my car will start for a few seconds then die I was told to change the fuel pump I did and it is still doing the same thing and the gauges are not working correctly could use some help thanks

Yes...a clear case of insufficient system ground...follow the black battery cable ....the 1/0awg cable from the battery to where it connects to the chassis/ground...take out the bolt and with a coarse wirebrush remove the corrosion there that exists AT the main ground...with a NEW battery (on that is fewer than five years old) you'll be off to your samba lesson~!**NEW battery because tin/antimony batteries will stop accepting a charge about ten percent per year...so five is a grampa~
