the security light just comes on with all the other lights But does not stay on or flash
a shot in the dark. i do not think this is the problem but just to say we tried it.. try this do a passlock reset put ignition key into ignition turn to the ACC position ( NOT THE ON POSITION) do not start car. leave key at ACC position for 10 minutes then turn key to off position and try to start it.
while you do that i will see what i can find out
have you tried connecting a code reader and seeing if you get and codes?
I had to change the batteries after I did that it would not put off any codes
and I could smell gas really bad after trying to start it
i am very sorry. try this. put key in ignition turn key to on position not ACC position leave in on position for 10 minutes then turn key to off position and try to start. i do not know why i said acc...
okay I will try those things I had to leave for a little while thanks again for your help
if that fails to work check for spark in various cylinders if none have spark. follow crank position sensor wireing ( they tend to melt on exhaust) and check for fuel leaks since the bad smell of fuel. if no fuel leaks and no spark disconnect battery clean all grounds and reconnect battery. if still no go i would suggest crank position sensor has gone bad.
could it be the body control module I knocked it loose when changing the blower motor
In a Chevy Malibu, the body control module controls the antitheft system, the HVAC system, and the gauges, including fuel, oil pressure and speed. It regulates the power windows, locks, seats and interior lights. so i suppose it "could" double check and make sure all connections are tight if they are then i don't think thats the problem
