My 02 chevy malibu starts but doesn;t turn over. I had a new fuel pump put iin 2 weeks ago and now it's doing the same thing. waht could it be now?

When I go to start my car it doesn't turn all the way over. The fuel pump was just put in 2 weeks ago. Now it's doing the same thing. The mechanic checked to make sure the fuel was getting to the engine. He is concerned becuase when he used the original key the car started right up. when i used my duplicate itwouldn't start gain. The car sounds like it cna start but doesn't kick all the way on???
