Try an automobile upholstery shop that does tops.

I've seen just the top advertised for anywhere from $300-$800. A good installation shop will be able to give you an estimate for labor and if they are willing to install a top you provide. You may be able to get a higher quality top this way. I have seen dealer pricing at 2-3k for similar job, so shopping pays off.
