when i stop at the lights sometimes my car does not accelerate when its times to go, when its warm it screeches but when its cold it doesn't but it takes a while before it moves

plugs and wires would be the first step to solving your problem
We need a little more info to help you. What car? Year? etc. What screeches, the tires, the engine? The clutch? How many miles on the car? Does it hesitate or not accelerate at all? Manual or Automatic trans? Check all fluids especially trans, if an automatic. Check belt(s) for proper tension. Hope this helps.
Almost sounds like a transmission problem, like skipatrol suggested check the fluid levels.
