My car will start but when I put it in drive or reverse it won't move it will only rev up. And the rpm will only go up to 3000 before falling back down to 500.

I had just gotten the transmission rebuilt do
to almost the same problem.

Check your transmission fluid level first. If it's good call the shop who did the rebuild and inform them the problem is back.
