Asked by Tracy Jun 18, 2018 at 06:39 AM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My air conditioner blows 95% hot, a minute cool, I've
taken it in and they say it charged and don't know why.
What could it be?

find someone who knows why- a good mechanic will have the right equipment to work on AC- don't waste your money on anyone else- if nothing else, go to the Dodge dealer-

If you mean it WAS charged n the pressures were all normal n not, took a charge, then most likely you've got 1 maybe 2 problems. 1)the a/c relay is goin' bad/dirty contact, in which case you can swap it with a like relay to test this theory. Or, 2)the other would be the low pressure switch on the accumulator is bad. Now if they got the a/c system to run long enough to get accurate readings on their gauges, then the problem is most likely in the blend door in the hvac plenum isn't staying put for some reason.
