I have a 1997 dodge ram, the transmission went out so I put a 2001 in, Now Poblems shifting!!!

My 1997 dodge ram transmission went out, so I put a 2001 dodge ram transmission in, Now it's not shifting properly. I know for sure that the transmission is good because It done great in my other truck, I did read on other forums that some things had to be swapped so Does anyone know what I would need to change?

Check computer and charging , they are linked with trany function,/ also check accelorator sensor on intake manifold / fuel filter could also be getting old or dirty easy check. i replaced the cam shaft postion senor that did not work.. i am not getting spark but i am getting fuel and compression. i tested the battery it is still good..you can still hear the fuel pump kick on...

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 4.7 Sport. I recently put in a new/used motor because my old one had a bad crankshaft. So after getting new motor in I started the truck and it ran great. I only ran it for about 5 seconds because I noticed I had a broken transmission line. I went back the next day and fixed the line. I went to start the truck back up and nothing happened. No click no nothing, everything lights up on dash. My engine light comes on and blinks about tens times than stays steady. My gear selections are all lit up. i have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 sport with a 5.9 gas motor. im trying to figure out what trans i have in the truck. the tag under the hood says bd48. when i look that up it shows for a diesel. so im not sure what trans i have. i cant find any tags on the trans at all but on the bell housing does have 064-2 if that helps any 3 Answers
