hi I tried to look up the info you are asking about but the web site I use is down..... what size engine is it?...the only issue that I think there might be is that the two different years use two different control modules and that the tone wheels (fly wheel and cam gear) might be different ...I had another web site that I can not find that is used to tell what engines can be swapped with what year vehicles ...I know they have at my place of work so I will check and get back to you tomorrow

Yes, if its the same set up you will have a direct fit. If you're going from a 5.2 to a 5.9 you will need the ECM to go with it, otherwise it is just a matter of a different stroke between the 5.2 and the 5.9, so going up or down in size will work perfectly, and have the ECM from the larger/smaller engine going in or you might have a truck that runs like doo doo

I have a 1997 dodge ram 4x4 with a 360 automatic and I want to put a bigger moter and put a 5 speed transmission what would i need to do to make it work
