Grinding noise

Asked by Exige_3071 Feb 08, 2017 at 11:37 PM about the 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat 4WD Crew Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a grinding noise thinking it was the wheel bearing.
Replaced it and 4wd lock out hub. Still have the noise
though not as loud. Pit it in 4wd to see if the noise went
away and its still there. Suggestions?

Did you check both sides? I had a bad wheel bearing I swore was on the right side, I replaced it and the noise was still there. Well you know the rest of the story, it was on the left side. It is recommended to replace both of them anyway when one goes noticeably bad.
