Grinding noise after installing new starter!

I just replaced my starter on my 2006
f250 6.0 powerstroke.   When starting,  I
hear an awful grinding noise, and my
pickup will start.  What would cause this?

    Have a grinding noise thinking it was the wheel bearing. Replaced it and 4wd lock out hub. Still have the noise though not as loud. Pit it in 4wd to see if the noise went away and its still there. ...
