I had to get my 06 F150 jumped off this morning. The cables were hooked up wrong to the car jumping me off. Once cables were corrected and my truck was running the radio and cigg lighter won't work.

Check your owners manual there is usually a fuse box diagram there. YOu vehicle may also have two boxes, one under the hood and one inside. Locate the proper fuse(s) and see if the one(s) controlling the radio and cigar lighter are blown. If not, use a multi meter and check for voltage (12) at the two contact points within the two sockets. If there is voltage you are going to have to check along the line going to the devices for the cause. If no voltage check back along the line(s) to the battery for the disruption.

Jumping with the radio on could have put a reverse polarity to it and blown the radio but I don't see any way that it would have affected the lighter

Oldtimer: The radio is digital so it could be blown with reverse polarity, but: If you ever connect the positive to the negative on two twelve volt batteries it is going to look like the 4th of July celebration. Guess it's possible, but WOW.

I must admit, I don't ever remember doing that but I can visualize what would happen! Just watch the sparks fly. Hope you aren't talking from experience.

It was 5:00am and the person jumping me off hooked the cables up to his battery, well the genius hooked them up backwards. Yes there were a few sparks. I've pulled fuses and no luck
