02 avalanche whining only when accelerating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When started it sounds like the alternator is dry on the inside, little bit of noise,
no whining or squealing. Only when accelerating to certain RPM'S it'll whine.
Once above set RPM(S) the whining stops. No problems with accelerating tho,
or shifting.

My Avalanche just started doing that this morning have you still been driving it what is the problem
