Why wont my truck start?

Asked by mel12181987 Jan 18, 2017 at 03:10 PM about the 1990 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought the truck.  It ran fine all day. It sat overnightand next morning it
would not start.  It sat all day and the temperature warmed into the 50's
and it started and I drove it. It started when I wanted and ran fine.  I
warmed it to operating temp. at about 11 P.M. Next morning it started.
Drove it all day. No problem.  Let it set from 5 P.M. to 9 A.M the next
morning and it is still sitting and will not start.  Temperature is in the 40's.

May be the ignition control module or coil. These can be tested at an auto parts store. Check the cap & rotor also.
