Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since winter started, I notice a loud sucking/ hissing
sound coming from my engine bay, the colder it
gets, the louder it gets. The noise sounds likes it is
coming from the area in between the radiator and
the front of the engine. I looked at all the pulleys
and they all looked fine. The noise doesn’t start till
I’m come stop for a second. The only thing I can
think of is the clutch for the fan because I know it
doesn’t work anymore. Could that be what it is? 4.0
engine.

Perhaps a major vacuum leak. Look for loose hoses under the hood.

All the vacuum line seem good. I was able to narrow the noise down to the front of the engine. Could it be a pulley going bad

Took the belt off and ran it and the noise went away. My friend who is. Mechanic narrowed it down the water pump area
