The porblem was there before and then it went away, if it's the same thing again it won't do it 4 wheel drive

There is a little clearance between the disc brake pads and the caliper on each wheel. It's normal if they "click" once when reversing direction. Also, there are two bolts holding the calipers in place that might be loose. Might be a good idea to have a trustworthy shop take a quick look for free. They could check ball joints and axles too. But don't get talked into a brake job unless you really need one. I hope this helps.

My 2016 Cherokee does this when I am driving down the road or when I turn. I have had my jeep in the dealership more than I get to drive it.they have yet to figure it out and I amost have all new parts in the front end. Wish they could figure it out. It’s getting old!

My 2018 jeep Cherokee makes a pop/clicking noise in the stop road go motion and when turning. I have had it in the shop three times in about two months. This past time they replaced the axel knuckle and drive shaft. Replacing both of those parts didn't help at all. I'm just told oh there's nothing wrong it's just a characteristic of the jeep. I just wish it could be fixed!

My 2016 jeep is doing the same thing and it seems to be getting worse! It started off with a random click when I would slow down. Had the dealership that I got it from look at it, and they blew me off saying they couldn't hear it or find anything. Now it's when I cut the wheel and when I start to back up or go forward!

My 17k mi. High Altitude with a Quadra lift suspension system makes a popping clicking sound noises when braking in "stop and go" traffic. Super annoying. It also clicks and pops when driving in a slightly sloped road like a 3% decline. Took in to the dealer 4 times. Here is what they are saying. 1. Replaced the locking nut on the ball joint. Tightened the upper ball joints, checked the caliper to make sure it was tight. The noise still didn't go away. 2. Was told that the noise went away after they tightened the subframe but when I came back to pick it up as soon as I got in the vehicle and started driving heard the noise come back. They told me it could be my front struts. 3. hey have ordered the front struts and will see if that will help.

Did replacing the front struts fix the clicking & popping sound or did something else fix it? I’m having the same problem with my 2018 high altitude
