Jeep will not crank!

Asked by ANicholson89 Dec 09, 2017 at 10:32 PM about the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Question type: General

Hi I have a 97' Jeep Cherokee Limited. My son left
the lights on overnight and the next day it wouldn't
crank. Tried to jump start it with another SUV and
still it will not crank. It acts like it wants to crank
because all the interior lights and headlights come
on. Maybe a new battery is needed. Not exactly
sure. If anyone has anyone has any advice for my
issue it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

How long has it been since you replaced the battery? To run an old battery all the way down, in the cold, will kill it as dead as a doornail- and a jump won't help- I hope this is all it is, because sometimes using jumper cables can fry the car's electronics-

My Jeep Grand Cherokee of the same year did the same thing. I had to pump the gas while trying to start it. In the end I had to buy a new battery because it kept not starting but yeah
